Title 1 Title 1 is
a set of programs set up by the United States Department of Education to distribute funding to qualifying schools and/or school
districts. Qualifying for Title 1 is based on free and reduced lunch percentages. Title 1 funding
provides a schoolwide program that:
Provides opportunities for all children to meet the State's proficient and advanced levels of academic
achievement.
Uses effective methods and instructional strategies that are based on scientifically based research that strengthen
the core academic program and increase the amount and quality of learning time that provides an enrich and accelerated curriculum.
Includes strategies that meet the needs of historically underserved populations.
Includes strategies that address the needs of all children in the school, but particularly
the needs of low achieving children and those at risk of not meeting the state standards who are members of the target populations.
Provides instruction by highly qualified professional staff.
Provides timely, effective assistance to students who experience difficulty in meeting
the state's standards, including taking specific steps to involve parents in helping their children meet the standards.
Baxterville School received approximately $110,639.00 for the 2011-2012 school year.
